We kicked off our focus on careers this week with an exciting visit from local barrister, Mark! 🌟 A huge thank you to Mark for sharing his incredible journey and providing our students with valuable insights into what it takes to pursue a career in law.
Our pupils were captivated as he outlined the challenges and triumphs he faced along the way, along with the essential skills needed to succeed in such a dynamic profession. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to ask questions and gain a real understanding of what a day in the life of a barrister entails.

🎨 Exciting Textile Projects in Our Design Technology Curriculum! 🌍
At St Joseph’s, our Design Technology curriculum is truly progressive, allowing our young creators to bring their imaginations to life! 🌟 This term has been filled with creativity and innovation through textiles, across all year groups:
👧 Year 1/2: Our pupils explored the vibrant culture of Kenya by designing traditional village homes, complete with beautifully crafted textile roofs. They learned about fabric manipulation and the importance of cultural craftsmanship!
👦 Year 3/4: Students transported themselves back to Ancient Greece by creating A4 personal flags for the Olympic opening ceremony! Incorporating running stitch techniques, they beautifully merged history with hands-on learning. 🏺🏃♂️
👩🎓 Year 5/6: Our older students took on the challenge of designing a camouflaged nomadic tent suitable for desert life. They focused on a stable structure and mastered a variety of joining techniques, showcasing their engineering skills along with artistic flair! 🏜️🪡
