Welcome to St Joseph’s Catholic Academy!

We love being Head Boy and Head Girls of our fantastic school, and we are very proud of what we represent. Our leadership team, consisting of passionate and dedicated Year 6 students, is committed to making St Joseph’s a wonderful place for everyone.

As Head Boy and Head Girls, our primary role is to represent the school and be a positive role model for our peers. We listen to students’ ideas and share these with our school’s leadership team, ensuring that every voice is heard. We take great pride in this role.

Being a Head Boy or Head Girl goes beyond just titles; it’s about having a genuine passion for St Joseph’s. We act as a vital link between students, staff, and governors, demonstrating the positive behaviours we hope to see in everyone. Whether we’re contributing at parental evenings, school events, or extra-curricular events, our aim is always to support the effective running of our school.

To excel in these roles, we need to be organised, enthusiastic, and responsible. Excellent behaviour, punctuality, and attendance are essential as we aim to be the best representatives of our school. Together, we make St Joseph’s a safe and secure environment for all our fellow students. Join us in our journey to make a difference!

Student Leadership Team Job Descriptions

Head Boy

I’m Patrick, I’m happy to be your Head Boy.

Thank you everyone for voting for me this year.  I’m very pleased to be your role model.

Here’s a bit about me…outside school I enjoy walking, biking, holidays and playing outside. I also like to play Chess. I go to St Joseph’s Church every week.

At school I’m a member of the School Chaplaincy group and other clubs. I love our outdoor grounds and the wonderful opportunities we have for outdoor play. It is great how the teachers involve the children in making decisions on new ideas.

I’m looking forward to the future and many more great ideas for learning.

Head Girl

My name is Kimché and as Head Girl of St Joseph’s Catholic Voluntary Academy.

I am incredibly proud to be a part of this school, who strives on giving young people, such as myself,a voice and opportunity to nurture our potential.

The school offers an excellent, well rounded holistic educational and generous athletic choices, that equips us to become confident, effective and caring individuals. I have been fortunate to represent school in many sports that they have on offer. I am also able to indulge in some of my hobbies, like guitar, which is offered along many other interesting options as an afterschool club.

I am especially proud of our mentoring approach, where older students get linked with our younger ones to help nurture them. In the future, I would like more opportunities for the students of St Joseph’s to raise money for charities and those in need. This could be through sponsored walks or fun fares, which can enable us to give back to the community.

Deputy Head Girl

I’m Scarlett. I‘m in year 6 and I’m deputy head girl. I like going to gymnastics and playing on my Xbox with my brothers. And I love spending time with my friends and family.

Things I do at school as a deputy head girl are show people around the school, make sure everyone feels safe and respected and I like to also help in any other way I can. I hope to make St Joseph’s an even more fun place to be by offering my ideas for new after school clubs and new exciting awards. I hope the school and the head teacher keep on making this a fun learning environment for everyone to be in.

I think School is amazing. I learn so many new things everyday, I get to see my friends and be a part of the St Joseph’s family. Ever since I joined this school in year 4 I felt like I’ve never not been here. Some things at my School that really make it even more enjoyable are that they have now opened the bottom field for opal (outdoor play at lunch). They have put lots of cool things on there such as; hammocks, tents, den building, football and tyre swings. We have bikes and scooters on the playground too!

I love the celebration assemblies that Mrs Carr does. It’s so exciting because you can get called up for an award sometimes when you have achieved something new. School has a super dog named Arthur who brings lots of energy and mischief to the school. We go on awesome school trips-which I love-and not to forget the fun teachers who listen and care lots about you.
