St Joseph’s Early Help Offer
At St Joseph’s, we understand that family life can have its challenges. If you’re finding things difficult—whether it’s concerns about your child’s behaviour, health or development, or if issues such as domestic abuse, alcohol or drug use are affecting your family—we are here to help.
Our Pastoral Lead can offer support in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential way. We provide:
-
One-to-one support for parents and carers
-
Advice on parenting and childcare
-
Help with referrals to outside agencies
-
Support throughout referral processes and forms
If appropriate, we can complete an Early Help Assessment. This begins with a conversation to understand your family’s needs. Together, we look at what’s going well, what might be more difficult, and what support could help. With your permission, we can share this information with relevant services so you don’t have to repeat yourself to different professionals. You will be part of a team all working together on the same plan to achieve positive outcomes for your family.
Within school, we can also provide a range of targeted emotional and social support, including:
-
Nurture sessions
-
Positive Play
-
ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) interventions
We can also refer children to external professionals for more specialised support when needed.
This list isn’t exhaustive. If you feel you or your child need help with anything—no matter how big or small—please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to support you.

This can be something that has taken place either online or in ‘the real world’, or both. The CEOP Safety Centre has clear information and advice on what can be reported to CEOP, the reporting process and what will happen if you do decide to make a report.
