At St Josephβs, our Design Technology curriculum is truly progressive, allowing our young creators to bring their imaginations to life! π This term has been filled with creativity and innovation through textiles, across all year groups:
π§ Year 1/2: Our pupils explored the vibrant culture of Kenya by designing traditional village homes, complete with beautifully crafted textile roofs. They learned about fabric manipulation and the importance of cultural craftsmanship!
π¦ Year 3/4: Students transported themselves back to Ancient Greece by creating A4 personal flags for the Olympic opening ceremony! Incorporating running stitch techniques, they beautifully merged history with hands-on learning. πΊπββοΈ
π©βπ Year 5/6: Our older students took on the challenge of designing a camouflaged nomadic tent suitable for desert life. They focused on a stable structure and mastered a variety of joining techniques, showcasing their engineering skills along with artistic flair! ποΈπͺ‘
